My name is Carol and in Jan 2020, I became a widow at 56. My husband Robert died and I was devasted.
It had been decades since I lived alone and be honest, in my grief, I was frightened & I didn't feel safe anymore. If I was in trouble it could be days before anyone noticed since we worked for ourselves. I asked some girl friends who live alone if they wanted to check in with each other, each night for safety. They were NOt interested, LOL.
So, I had to find another way. This was my solution.
After vetting a number of app designers, and after one call with Kimson at STABLEWP, I knew he imediately understood my concept and had a way to make it functional & easy to use.
I work with a team of tech advisors, marketing & design experts. We are making sure it is easy to use for all ages.
We have big plans. The next one will include texting your contacts and other options. This is our BETA version, we look forward to your feedback.
Yes. My goal was to provide a safety net for myself and others who could benefit. Later if many people love it, use it we can build in other features.
We are happy to work with other companies and usage ideas as possible sources of income generation. But the app is FREE to use for everyone.
It works simply like an alarm. You set the alarm - it can be daily, or specific or more than once a day if you need it. It will need wifi/data to send the emails and to download the app.
No. This app simply notfies your safety contact that you have not checked in. If you added location info in your timer (such as Running in the Park by the lake) then it will send that info to your safety contacts as well.
Then you family safety contact will just email or call you to check in that you are OK.
No, just your safety contacts. It will be up to them to check in on you and decide what's next. This is not an emergency alert system.
Meet Bob, the love of my life and partner in business ventures and in life. He had an adventurer spirit and this photo was taken in Aug, 2019. It would be our last summer vacation together, so I am glad we took the time to have an amzing last year.
Bob was not afraid to takes chances including having businesses and enjoying ourselves with family and friends.
Nothing fancy, but he was always willing to try new things.
When I decided to create the app, it was really for me to use with my family and friends. So I told people about it and the idea grew. I started making videos about grief and realized this app may help many, so I got to work on making it real.
I dedicate it to my huband and all the widows/widowers out there who are living alone. - Love Carol
